O’Brien will be the main threat in the full-forward line. Garryspillane’s Hugh Flanagan is named in the corner with Oisin O’Farrell in the other.

Limerick U20 hurling boss Evan Loftus has named his side to take on Clare in Round 1 of the oneills.com Munster U20 Hurling Championship on Friday evening.

The tie is scheduled to start at 7pm in Sixmilebridge, with Cian Scully of Dromin/Athlacca captaining a strong side.

Shane O’Brien saw plenty of game time for John Kiely’s Seniors during the Allianz League, and the Kilmallock man is in at full-forward for this one.

Monaleen’s Darragh Langan was also involved in a number of Kiely’s league squads, and is named at full-back for the clash with the Banner.

Pierce Connery is set to start in goal, with Langan joined by his Monaleen club mate Joseph Fitzgerald I the full-back line. Mikey Fitzgibbon starts at corner-back.

There are four Monaleen representatives in the starting XV, one of them being centre-back Matthew Fitzgerald. He is flanked by captain Scully, with David Fitzgerald occupying the other wing.

Wayne Kearns and Con Hayes form a midfield partnership, with Fintan Fitzgerald named just ahead at centre-forward.

Fitzgerald is supported by Robert O’Farrell and Dara Ferland, who is Monaleen’s fourth and final starting member.

O’Brien will be the main threat in the full-forward line. Garryspillane’s Hugh Flanagan is named in the corner with Oisin O’Farrell in the other.
