PREVIEW | Limerick Senior & Junior Camogie teams seek first championship wins in respective second round ties

Limerick’s Senior and Junior Camogie teams look to right the wrongs of last week with games against Kilkenny and Roscommon.

After a tough opening weekend, Limerick’s Senior and Junior teams seek their first wins of the Championship as they face Kilkenny and Roscommon respectively this Saturday.

The senior side will have another challenge this week on the road to 2020′ All-Ireland Champions Kilkenny after falling to a 4-11 to 1-7 defeat against last year’s champions in round one.

The Treaty side held their own against the reigning champions until the final quarter where the home side slotted thirteen points at the end making the game look a lot easier than it was.

Manager John Lillis was in bright spirits after the game acknowledging his teams performance and hopeful for this weekends challenge.

The clash takes place this Saturday, May 28th in UPMC Nowlan park in 4pm.

Lillis has made two changes to his side with Teresa Dore and Lorraine McCarthy coming in in place of Neamh Curtin and Sarah O’Brien.

Limerick’s Junior team are all set to face Roscommon this weekend with the Connacht side holding home advantage.

Last weekend was always going to be tough for the second team against last years runners up Armagh.

The inexperience of the Limerick squad was obvious with many of their team only getting their first taste of championship camogie.

The team will have to regroup this week and work hard to get back out on the field after that 6-21 to 0-6 loss as Roscommon were also defeated by Antrim in their opener.

Throw in this Saturday is 5pm in St. Aidan’s GAA Club, Ballyforan.
