Limerick Senior hurling team named for Waterford clash | TEAM NEWS

Gearoid Hegarty and Tom Morrissey assume their familiar half-forward roles, with Seamus Flanagan named at full-forward.

John Kiely has named his Limerick side to take on Waterford in the fifth round of the Munster Hurling Championship on Sunday at 4pm in the TUS Gaelic Grounds.

The Shannonsiders won their opening game against Clare in Ennis, before backing that up with a victory over Tipperary, although they tasted defeat away to Cork last time out.

Should Limerick avoid defeat on Sunday, they will qualify for a sixth consecutive Munster SHC final.

Mike Casey returns to the starting XV, having recovered from the hamstring injury he sustained in the first round of the championship, the Na Piarsaigh man Kiely’s only change to the side as he replaces Sean Finn.

Declan Hannon captains the side from centre-back, with Cian Lynch named at centre-forward, ahead of a midfield pairing of Will O’Donoghue and Cathal O’Neill.

Nickie Quaid starts in goal, with Barry Nash and Dan Morrissey joining Casey in the full-back line.

Hannon is named at six, flanked by Diarmaid Byrnes and Kyle Hayes.

O’Neill partners O’Donoghue in midfield, with Lynch named at centre-forward. Gearoid Hegarty and Tom Morrissey assume their familiar half-forward roles, with Seamus Flanagan named at full-forward.

Aaron Gillane once again starts at corner-forward, with David Reidy named in the opposite corner for Sunday’s clash.
