Limerick’s Ciara Neville selected for World Indoor Championships

Limerick’s Ciara Neville has been selected to compete at the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham in March.

Neville of Castletroy College, finished in third place at the Irish Life Health National Indoor Championships in the  in Abbotstown on Sunday with a time of 7.35 seconds.

The teenager will now go on to compete for Ireland in the 60m in the World Championships in under two weeks.

Neville has been in superb form this season setting a a record-breaking 7.30 seconds to win the national junior 60m title in Athlone last month. Setting a national junior record and equalling the national senior record.

The Emerald AC star took to social media to express her delight.

“Couldn’t be happier to be selected to represent Ireland at the @iaaf\_athletics World Indoor Champs in less than 2 weeks time. Greatful to @athleticsireland for this opportunity and excited to go out and give it my best!”
