Limerick head into the Munster Ladies Football Championship against Tipperary on the back of an All-Ireland junior title last year.
John Ryan’s side had a good league campaign with five wins from seven but fell to Fermanagh in the semi final.
Ryan is now firmly focused on Saturday’s clash with Tipperary at Semple Stadium and is expecting a very tough challenge.
“It’s a big game for us at the weekend and it’s on a big stage for us as well. Everyone likes to play on the big pitches and there is none bigger than Semple Stadium.
“It’s before the Tipperary v Limerick mens Senior Football Championship game so everything gears towards that.
“The players are looking forward to it. I think it’s a great starting block for championship. You have the Clare game after this as well.
“It’s a massive task. You are playing a Division One side that came down from senior last year and they will see themselves as All-Ireland contenders this year.”
Ryan also gave his thoughts on the scheduling of a camogie fixture involving Limerick that will see three dual players forced with an extremely difficult decision on which game to play.
