Limerick will be guaranteed a semi-final spot if they can overcome Fermanagh in their final round game of Division 4 of the Lidl National League.
Should they be successful, John Ryan’s side will take on either Louth, Wicklow or Fermanagh in the semi-final, depending on results from the weekend’s other fixtures in Division 4.
The team will be confident going into the clash in Askeaton following their hammering of Derry at the weekend on a scoreline of 6-10 to 1-04. It was overall dominant display from Limerick, who led by nine points at half-time with even full-back, Clodagh McGrath getting in on the goal scoring action.
That game showed huge improvements in key areas for Limerick, according to their manager and these factors will be needed to overcome Fermanagh on Sunday.
“It’s all down to self-belief, number one and workrate. And their workrate is huge… Our discipline has to be right.”
Limerick currently lie third in the table, behind Wicklow and Louth. Their opponents Fermanagh are just one point behind in fourth.
Ryan sees this game as a chance for his side to improve their consistency.
“Getting back-to-back performances is a big problem for us and we need to address that. Sunday will be a big test for us. Fermanagh will be a very hard side, they won the All Ireland last year and they’ll be coming to Limerick to win”.
The semi-finals line-up will see the first placed team take on the team that lies in fourth while the teams placed second and third will face off against each other.
Those fixtures will take place on the weekend of April 21st and 22nd.
