Lynch captain as Limerick name team for Tipperary meeting | TEAM NEWS

Lynch captains the side, assuming the role from William O’Donoghue, who led his troops out against Dublin.

John Kiely has named his Limerick side to take on Tipperary in the Allianz Hurling League on Saturday at 7.35pm in Supervalu Pairc Ui Chaoimh.

Cian Lynch comes in to captain the side from centre half-forward, and the Limerick team is strengthened by the presence of Hurler of the Year Aaron Gillane and All-Ireland final Man of the Match Peter Casey in the corners.

Lynch captains the side, assuming the role from William O’Donoghue, who led his troops out against Dublin. O’Donoghue retains his midfield spot alongside Doon’s Darragh O’Donovan.

The Shannonsiders have picked up three wins in their three league games so far, getting the better of Antrim, Westmeath and Dublin.

Nickie Quaid remains between the sticks, with Fergal O’Connor and Mike Casey continuing in the full-back line. Dan Morrissey is in at full-back.

Cathal O’Neill is named at six, flanked by Diarmaid Byrnes and Colin Coughlan, with O’Donoghue and O’Donovan ahead in midfield.

Gearoid Hegarty and Conor Boylan keep their places at half-forward, playing on either side of the returning captain Lynch.

The full-forward line looks extremely dangerous, as Gillane starts for the first time this year. He joins Casey and Donnacha O Dalaigh, who is having a fine league campaign, as the inside forwards.
