A fan-favourite, Ludden will be sorely missed on Shannonside this upcoming season, and Barrett will have a tough task on his hands replacing him.
Marc Ludden has announced his retirement from the League of Ireland, in a move that will be a huge loss to Treaty United ahead of the new season.
The Galway man has been a part of the club since it’s birth in 2021, and captained the Shannonsiders to a sixth placed finish last season.
The full-back began his career at Mervue United, before moving to Galway United in 2014, and he played over 400 League of Ireland games spanning over 14 years.
He was named on the PFAI First Division Team of the Year in 2021, and departs the Markets Field having made 94 appearances for Treaty.
A fan-favourite, Ludden will be sorely missed on Shannonside this upcoming season, and Tommy Barrett will have a tough task on his hands replacing him.
