Munster injury update: Bleyendaal & Niall Scannell require further assessment.

With 45 players involved at the weekend across the Champions Cup and British and Irish Cup the medical team reported a clean bill of health following Saturday’s B&I Cup win against Ospreys Premiership Select while Tyler Bleyendaal and Niall Scannell require further assessment after the draw against Castres at Stade Pierre Antoine on Sunday.

Niall Scannell will undergo a scan on a thumb injury

Hooker Niall Scannell, replaced after 54 minutes by Rhys Marshall, will undergo a scan for a thumb injury, while outhalf Tyler Bleyendaal, who was replaced four minutes later by Ian Keatley, will follow suit and undergo a scan for a neck injury.

Academy lock Sean O’Connor, who was in action for Munster A in Swansea, reported no ill effects after completing the full 80 following a neck injury sustained against Glasgow in the PRO14.
