Munster’s URC Schedule for the new year confirmed

The schedule for Munster’s upcoming United Rugby Championship fixtures up to R17 have been confirmed with adjustments made to cater for postponed and rescheduled fixtures.

Munster’s postponed URC fixtures from R6 and R7 that were due to take place in South Africa will now be moved to the weekends of March 11/12 and March 18/19. More details about these fixtures will be confirmed once further discussions with key stakeholders are completed.

The URC confirmed they are fully committed to playing all games as scheduled but will ensure that the welfare of teams and players comes first.

For R15 and R16 Munster will be on the road facing Interprovincial opposition Leinster on Saturday, April 2 at the Aviva with Ulster three weeks later on Friday, April 22 at Kingspan Stadium.

The men’s side will return to Musgrave Park for the first time since February 2020 and close out the regular season when hosting Benetton Rugby in March and Cardiff Rugby in April under Friday Night Lights.

Before then the Cork venue will host the Ireland U20s for their Six Nations campaign, while a first for Ireland Women will also see them make a tournament appearance in April when they welcome Italy for their Round 3 Six Nations tie.

The dates and kick-off times for R18 will be confirmed next month after consultation with the broadcast partners.
