Newcastle West and Fr Caseys pick up Sunday evening wins in SFC

In the final pair of games in Round 4 of the Limerick SFC, Newcastle West and Fr Caseys would emerge victorious.

Newcastle’s fourth consecutive win sets up a final day clash with Oola where the winners will seal top spot and a place in the semi-finals.

Newcastle were 1-3 to 0-4 ahead of Na Piarsaigh in Askeaton at half-time in tough conditions.

Two further second-half goals would secure the win for the 2015 champions as they won out 3-8 to 0-7.

Fr Caseys almost guaranteed their progression to the knockout stages with a 0-10 to 0-9 win over Ballysteen in Newcastle West.

The sides were level at 0-4 a piece at the half before two late scores from Adrian Enright sealed the victory for the Abbeyfeale side.

For Caseys to miss out on the knockout stages, they will have to lose to Monaleen, Ballysteen to beat St Senans and Ballylanders to beat Adare and overcome a 22 points differential on Caseys.

The final round of games take place on the weekend of August 24/25.
