March 17
On St Patrick’s Day in 2016, Na Piarsaigh became the first Limerick side to ever win the Senior Club All-Ireland Hurling title. Two years later they drew in the decider while Kilmallock also reached the final in 2015.
2018
There was nothing to sperate Na Piarsaigh and defending champions Cuala as it finished level 1-22 to 2-19 in their 2018 All-Ireland Club Final in Croke Park.
In a match up between the 2016 & 2017 champions, Na Piarsaigh were slow to get off the blocks as the Dublin settled quickly.
A huge second quarter from Na Piarsaigh where they rattled off seven scores was enough for a 0-8 to 0-6 lead at the brek.
Peter Casey got the games first goal of the day after 33 minutes but Cuala replied like champions and were soon 0-15 to 1-11 ahead.
But five on the trot from the Limerick kingpins was enough for a three point lead in injury time.
Cuala captain Sean Moran then stepped up to fire a 21 yard penalty to the net to send it to extra-time at 1-16 apiece.
Na Piarsaigh struck the first goal of extra time as David Breen found the net to give them a 2-18 to 1-20 lead.
Yet, with 10 seconds to play, David Treacy stroked over his 12th of the day to send the game to a replay.
2016
Na Piarsaigh put Cushendall to the sword to clinch a maiden All-Ireland club title for Limerick winning out 2-25 to 2-14 in Croke Park.
In their first final appearance, the Limerick side wasted little as Adrian Breen found the net after 30 seconds.
Kevin Downes had Na Pairsaigh’s second goal after 24 minutes as they blitzed the Antrim side 1-9 to 0-1 in a dazzling spell.
At the half they were full value for a twelve point, 2-12 to 0-6 lead.
They began the second where they left off with five on the trot to move 17 clear, putting the game to bed.
Neil McManus got his sides first goal of the game after 39 but it counted for little and by the time they got their second, the result was already well sealed.
Na Piarsaigh captain Cathal King became the first Limerick man to ever lift the Tommy Moore cup and first to lift a senior All-Ireland of any kind since 1973.
2015
Ballyhale made it a record 6th All-Ireland title as they defeated Kilmallock 1-18 to 1-6 in the All-Ireland Club Hurling final on St Patricks Day.
Kilmallock will rue 10 first-half wides as they fell to an early 0-4 to 0-1 deficit in Croke Park against the five time champions.
The Kilkenny were far more clinical in front of goal and moved 0-6 to 0-3 clear before Colin Fennelly’s 27th minute goal gave them daylight.
A TJ Reid free on the stroke of the half left it at 1-7 to 0-4 in Ballyhale’s favour.
Ballyhale added to their immediately after the restart as they limited their opponents to just a pair of frees.
Robbie Hanley added a late consolation goal for the Limerick men but the day belonged to Henry Shefflin and co as he collected a 13th All-Ireland medal.
