PREVIEW | Fifth round of Men and Women’s Division One in basketball takes place over Bank Holiday weekend

The Limerick Sport Huskies are the only Limerick side out of action this weekend across the National Basketball Leagues

The National Basketball league continues this weekend with a handful of interesting ties taking place between Saturday and Sunday.

The Limerick Sport Eagles get the weekend underway when they host the Killarney Cougars at 7pm on Saturday. The Sport Eagles have enjoyed a successful start to the season and will be looking for their fourth win in five games against a side that are yet to win this season.

30 minutes later, the Limerick Celtics are in action when they travel to the capital to face the Abbey Seals Dublin Lions. Last weekend was the first time the Celtics dropped points this season and will be looking to get back to winning ways with the Sport Eagles breathing down their necks in the table.

The Limerick Celtics women’s team are the only Limerick side in action in the Women’s Division One, with the Sport Huskies missing out this weekend due to an odd number of sides in the division.

The Celtics have a home fixture against SETU Carlow this weekend and they’ll be playing with an extra spring in their step after their Limerick derby victory over the Sport Huskies last weekend. Carlow sit in third bottom with only one win from their three games as they missed out on playing last weekend.

Each game can be watched live on Basketball Ireland TV
