PREVIEW | Limerick Derby highlights the fourth round of action in the National Basketball League

The first of this season’s Limerick derbies highlights the fourth weekend of the National League.

We’ve reached round four of the National Basketball Leagues with the quartet of Limerick outfits in action this weekend.

The Limerick Celtics men’s side will be looking to make it four consecutive wins when they face Scotts Lakers SPK away from home. The Celtics, who are one of ten sides across the National League to remain unbeaten, sit at the top of the table while their opponents are eighth after the opening four games.

Looking to build on last week’s W against SETU Waterford Vikings, the Limerick Sport Eagles will travel to the Barrow Centre to face SETU Carlow. The Eagles have had a fluctuating start to the season but will be looking to make it three wins from their opening four.

In the Women’s Division One, the first Limerick derby of the season will be played when the Limerick Celtics women’s and the Limerick Sport Huskies at the UL Arena on Sunday.

The Celtics women’s head into Sunday’s clash with a form of WLW, with their last win coming against the Marble City Hawks. The Sport Huskies, on the other hand, have endured a worst start possible with three losses to open the campaign and will be desperate to get one over their local opponents on Sunday.
