Limerick are set to take on Cork in the final of the 2021 Electric Ireland Munster GAA Football Minor Championship in Semple Stadium, Thurles, this Wednesday August 11th at 7:30pm.
Limerick will have Cork for company in the final of the Munster GAA Football Minor Championship this Wednesday. The Limerick minor footballers are now in the hunt for their first championship since 1956. Although Cork haven’t won since 2010, they were finalists in 2019.
Cork defeated last years winners Kerry by just one point in a nail-biter semi-final in Páirc Uí Chaoimh, while Limerick sailed past Clare in Cusack Park to seal their first Munster final appearance since 1998.
Limerick’s minor football manager Kevin Denihan has made three changes to his side from the one that got over on the Banner in the semi-final. Fr. Casey’s Michael Kilbridge comes in to replace his fellow club mate Culann Quigley.
Newcastle West’s Sean Geraghty earns a starting spot along with Monaleen’s Conall O’Duinn, who replaces Fr. Casey’s Ronan Quirke in the starting 15.
Limerick now look to upset Cork and make them wait at least an extra year before obtaining their 30th Munster Minor Football Championship.
Throw-in is set for 7:30pm this evening (August 11th) in Semple Stadium.
