Rory Scannell Returns to Munster as Schmidt Trims Ireland Squad

Joe Schmidt has cut his 45 man panel to 43 ahead of Ireland’s Summer Series match against Italy at the Aviva Stadium with Munster’s Rory Scannell & Connacht’s Ultan Dillane returning to their provinces.

The game against Conor O’Shea’s Azzuri side kicks off at 2pm on Saturday. Ireland will play England at Twickenham on August 24th and a week later will play Wales in Cardiff. The final warm up games takes place on September 7th as Wales return to the Aviva.

Ireland start their World Cup campaign against Scotland on September 22nd and will depart for Japan with a 31 man squad.
