Sam Barry faces into last 16 tie in Dublin

Sam Barry will take on Tom Farquharson of Great Britain in the last 16 of the Dun Laoghaire Rathdown International Championships this Wednesday evening.

The Futures event which is being held at Carrickmines Tennis Club began on Monday and has $25,000 prize money on offer.

The Limerick man started the tournament with a convincing straight sets victory over fellow Irishman Owen Kirk.

Wednesdays opponent, Farquharson also recorded a straight sets victory in the last 32, however, Barry should fancy his chances against the Brit who lies 1051 in the world rankings.

The match is set to get going at 5.30pm on Thursday.

Sunday 29 July will mark the final day of the tournament, with The Irish Open getting underway after that at Fitzwilliam Lawn Tennis Club.
