Tommy Barrett’s men narrowly missed out on the playoff positions last year, and will be hoping to have a strong season this time around.
We are just over three weeks away from the start of the 2024 SSE Airtricity Men’s First Division season, with Treaty United kicking off their bid for promotion at home to Cobh Ramblers on February 16th.
Tommy Barrett’s men narrowly missed out on the playoff positions last season, and will be hoping to have a strong year this time around, having made a number of exciting additions to the squad.
The Shannonsiders have been dealt a hammer blow with the retirement of club captain Marc Ludden, but there have been many important resignings made, with Enda Curran, Lee Devitt and Darren Nwankwo agreeing to stay on Shannonside to name a few.
The departing Success Edogun scored some crucial goals for Treaty last season, but Barrett will hope his void can be filled by the incoming David Tarmey, who scored with just his second touch of the ball on his debut.
Yoyo Mahdy also joins the attacking ranks, having kitted out for Bray Wanderers in 2023, with the 25-year-old adding crucial depth to the squad.
The most recent addition has been 17-year-old defender Adam O’Halloran, who joined from Galway United, who goes into a youthful defensive unit that already features Nwankwo and Robbie Lynch.
