St Alibes book SFC final spot while Murroe Boher upset the odds in Intermediate

Last year’s finalists St Alibes hit the net three times to get past Ballylanders and book their place in a second successive decider

There is one finalist in each of the Limerick Senior and Intermediate Ladies Football Championships with one semi-final falling foul of the weather and another needing a replay.

This weekend the finalists in both will be confirmed but what is already guaranteed is that St Alibes and Murroe Boher will feature in their respective championship decider.

In the Senior, last year’s finalists St Alibes hit the net three times to get past Ballylanders and book their place in a second successive decider. Ballylanders came into the game undefeated but were undone by the East side who recorded a 3-6 to 0-11 victory.

They will face either Monagea or Oola in the final with that refixed for this Friday at the North Campus in UL at 8pm. Oola have won both of their games so far in their first year in the senior ranks while Monaega are seeking a third successive title.

In the Intermediate, Murroe Boher produced a shock to defeat Knockainey in their semi-final outing. Knockainey were favoured having won each of their group games but Murroe produced a stunning performance, winning out 2-8 to 0-6. They will play either Galtee Gaels or Mungret St Pauls in the decider after there was nothing to separate them. It ended 1-5 apiece with the teams to meet again this Saturday afternoon.
