With time almost up in St Colman’s Park, Frahill turned in a corner to send the crowd into raptures.
Treaty United suffered a painful 1-0 defeat on Friday evening in the League of Ireland First Division at the hands of Cobh Ramblers, in what was a pivotal result for their playoff hopes.
Ramblers secured the three points courtesy of a 95th minute Brendan Frahill goal, and it is the third time they have beaten Treaty this season.
The result leaves Tommy Barrett’s men eighth in the table, five points off the playoffs with games running out fast.
Cobh look settled in their playoff position, sitting third behind only Galway United and Waterford.
Treaty did have their chances in the game, and were arguably the better side. They came closest through Success Edogun, who saw his effort hit the bar.
With time almost up in St Colman’s Park, Frahill turned in a corner to send the crowd into raptures.
Ecstasy for Ramblers, heartbreak for Treaty.
Barrett’s side have no time to feel sorry for themselves, and must get ready for their meeting with Wexford this Friday.
