Treaty United travel to Bray Wanderers winless in six

The sides played out a 2-2 draw when they met at the Markets Field earlier this season, Mark Walsh and Thomas Considine hitting first half goals.

Treaty United will be looking to pick up their first League of Ireland First Division victory since March 1 when they face Bray Wanderers in the Carlisle Grounds this Friday evening.

The tie is set to kick-off at 7:45pm, with both sides level on 12 points, although Bray hold a superior goal difference having played a game more, and occupy the final playoff position.

A 0-0 draw at home to Kerry FC last time out was enough for Tommy Barrett’s men to put an end to a three game losing streak that saw them lose the momentum built by their strong start to the season.

While the Shannonsiders will be glad they arrested the losing run, they are still winless in their last six, taking just three points from a possible 18.

The sides played out a 2-2 draw when they met at the Markets Field earlier this season, Mark Walsh and Thomas Considine hitting first half goals to give the hosts a 2-0 lead at half-time.

However, Bray put in a strong second-half performance and a Shane Griffin penalty set the stage for Thomas Morgan to snatch a point minutes from time.

Since that day, Wanderers have picked up eight points, compared to Treaty’s two, which has seen the Wicklow outfit rise above the Shannonsiders into the playoff spots.

Yoyo Mahdy is likely to start for the Limerick side in the absence of the injured pair Enda Curran and David Tarmey. Mahdy spent last season at Bray, scoring two goals in ten league games.

For those travelling to the game:

  • Take the N11 out of Dublin or M50 Southbound.
  • Exit the M50/N11 merge at junction 5 Bray North.
  • At the roundabout take second exit towards Bray.
  • Continue straight on along the Dublin Road, cross the Dargle bridge and turn left at the lights just beyond the Royal Hotel.
  • Continue down Quinnsboro Road.
  • The Carlisle is on your left just before the level crossing.

Parking is in the streets around the ground.

Treaty United Blue Army supporters are looking at organising a bus to the game, for more information contact the Blue Army on socials or at 0838260907.
