Two changes have been made to the Limerick team as they welcome Carlow to the LIT Gaelic Grounds on Sunday at 14:00.
Manager Donal Ryan has opted to hand starts to Shauna Ryan and Megan Buckley, who take the places of dual players Áine Cunningham and Róisín Ambrose.
It’s an ‘all or nothing’ game for both, with the winners sealing a spot in the semi-final.
A draw would also be enough to see Limerick advance, as both teams lost out to Offaly earlier in the campaign – Carlow losing by a six point deficit, Limerick by five.
Looking at the previous encounters between the sides, a close game is expected on Sunday. Carlow have won both of the last two by a single point but it’s a refreshed Limerick side with just three of the 2018 team still involved – Clíodhna Ní Cheallaigh, Kristine Reidy & Róisín Ambrose.
“Carlow are a good team. They’ve done a lot of work over the last few years to build themselves up. They are a fine team, managed by a guy called Mark Keating who was involved with the Dublin team so he knows his football. He has done huge work with Carlow so it won’t be easy,” said Limerick’s Donal Ryan.
The game will be live streamed for free on the Lidl NFL portal.
