WATCH: Aisling Annacotty players look ahead to FAI Junior Cup game with Ballymun

Aisling Annacotty face into arguably their biggest ever game on Saturday when they travel to Dublin to take on Ballymun Utd in the last 16 of the FAI Junior Cup.

Mike Aherne’s young side have exceeded expectations in getting this far in the competition and are in bonus territory.

However, they are fully focused on beating a highly fancied Ballymun outfit. Earlier this week, Sporting Limerick caught up with Aisling captain Brian Butler and teammate Darren Harrington.

“All we have ever done is take every game as it comes, said Butler. “You can’t keep looking forward to FAI’s.

“The bread and butter is the league and your domestic cups and the FAI is just a bonus competition that we have managed to do well in this year.

“For me to be captaining this side is an absolute privilege. We can’t wait for it now and we are all very excited. It’s a big moment for the club.

Harrington added that Aisling face a huge test against a Ballymun club that have a storied history in the FAI Junior Cup but is confident that the young Aisling squad can pull off a shock.
