WATCH: Billy Lee “focused on maintaining standards” ahead of Cork in Munster semi-final

The Limerick Senior Footballers take on Cork in the LIT Gaelic Grounds this Saturday in the Munster Football Championship semi-final.

Billy Lee and his side are seeking a place in the provincial decider for the first time since 2010 with their last championship win over the Rebels coming in 2003.

This is Limerick’s third successive Munster semi-final after waiting seven years for a singular championship win in the province with Lee highlighting the importance of playing in these big games.

“We’re not getting too excited or two caught up because there’s a big game coming, it’s great that lads are getting used to the importance of games and handling that, and they’re handling it quite well.”

“The focus is about maintaining our standard for 70 minutes.”

In last year’s semi-final, Limerick were the width of the post away from overcoming eventual champions Tipperary, with Conor Sweeney’s wonder strike bringing the game to extra-time in the LIT Gaelic Grounds.

The Premier County’s superior experience told in additional time as Limerick rued a missed chance at a provincial decider.

Since then, Limerick have continued to progress, solidifying their Division 3 status with Lee insisting that his side have learned from the defeat.

“Last year against Tipperary was just one of those things you’ve to take on the chin, we had the opportunities and just didn’t see them out”
