WATCH: Billy Lee reaction after Limerick fall to one point loss to Leitrim

Limerick lost out by the slimmest of margins to Leitrim in a heartbreaking defeat in Kilmallock this afternoon.

Billy Lee’s side were level at 0-11 apiece deep into added time but Gary Plunkett superb strike saw Leitrim to a 0-12 to 0-11 victory.

Limerick struggled to get into the game in the early stages but when they eventually settled, the home side missed four goal chances in the first half that were ultimately to prove costly.

Jamie Lee and Cillian Fahy scored two points each in the first half, while one each from Seamus O’Carroll, Colm McSweeney and Peter helped Limerick to a 0-7 to 0-5 lead at half time.

Leitrim upped their game in the second half and powered to a two point lead late on but Sean and Colm McSweeney efforts saw the game level heading into added time.

However, Leitrim had one more trick up their sleeve and Buckley popped up with a glorious score to seal victory.
