WATCH: Doon’s Tom Murphy reflects on quarter-final victory

Yesterday Doon booked their place in the semi-finals of the Limerick SHC with a 1-23 to 2-15 win over Ballybrown in the Gaelic Grounds.

Although they found themselves in Group 2 for 2019, Ballybrown looked every bit the top tier side as they lead for large spells of the game.

Cormac Ryan’s goal would prove crucial for last years county champions with manager Tom Murphy outlining the difficult task his side encountered.

“We knew it wasn’t going to be easy so we didn’t take them lightly. They have some serious hurlers. We knew it would be a battle but we got the goal at the right time and drove on from there.”

Doon now advance to face Patrickswell in the semi-finals in a repeat of last years clash.

That time Doon won out by a point in a 2-17 to 0-22 epic in the Gaelic Grounds, with Murphy expecting more of the same this weekend.

“A serious proposition. The same stage as last year. We are going to try our best and perform on the day and get to the final like last year. It’s not going to be easy but we’ll prepare, recover and we’ll get ready for Sunday.”
