Limerick District League manager Keith Kerley was delighted with the opportunity to lead a league XI on the 50th anniversary of Jackman Park on Friday night. A Limerick District League XI was selected over three weeks ago from a variety of clubs from all 8 divisions in the Limerick District League.
They pitted their wits against Limerick’s senior soccer representative Treaty United and Tommy Barrett’s men ran out 0-2 winners in front of a healthy attendance. Kerley paid particular homage to the lower league players who were very enthusiastic about the opportunity to represent the league on such a big occasion.
Kerley stated; “It was a fantastic achievement to have 22 lads from the Limerick District League playing against Treaty United. It was brilliant for the lads from the lower leagues who wouldn’t get this opportunity very often.”
