WATCH: Johann van Graan on Conor Murray injury and the Pro14 quarter final

Munster head coach Johann van Graan provided a positive update on the injury picked up by Conor Murray against Connacht on Saturday.

The Munster scrum half sustained a neck injury in the warm up before the game even began and was withdrawn from the contest as a precaution.

However, the injury was deemed not to be serious by the Munster medical department and Murray is fully fit for this weekend’s Pro14 quarter final with Benetton at Thomond Park on Saturday.

“We took him off as a precaution on Saturday. Just a bit of stiffness and a minor neck injury. He will train this afternoon.

“He really wanted to play in the game and we said that we will go an assess in the changing room.

“Obviously he wanted to play. He has had some issues before but luckily, after some close examination by the medical team, all’s good and he is ready to train.”
