WATCH: John Kiely gives squad update as Cork fixture draws near

Limerick Senior Hurling manager John Kiely gave a promising injury update ahead of their Championship semi-final clash against Cork at Semple Stadium this coming Saturday.

Kiely praised the work done so far by his medical team in keeping the players in such good condition throughout what has already been a gruelling season. Kiely also acknowledged the risks posed to player fitness that can often come with the training sessions in the lead up to a big fixture, but remained positive in his squads ability and form.

Although Kiely admitted to a few players carrying minor injuries towards the latter stages of the Allianz League, he was reassuring that “almost” everyone will be available for selection come Saturday.

“We have pretty much everyone available for selection from tonight onwards. Hopefully everyone will get through training so we will have a full hand to pick from.

“Mike Casey is making fantastic progress. I expect him to resume full training next week. We are extremely happy where he is at. It’s a really tough journey but Mike has incredible mental strength, and we knew he was always going to be ok.”
