WATCH: Kyle Hayes “the ten minutes before half time really set us up”

Kyle Hayes returned to competitive action yesterday and made a winning return as Limerick enjoyed a 9-point win over Kilkenny.

The Kildimo Pallaskenry clubman was happy with how Limerick coped with Kilkenny with the game never really in doubt once Limerick scored 2-3 without reply just before half time.

Hayes was delighted to come away from Nowlan Park with the win and also commented on the strength in depth of the squad with a number of players missing through injury.

“No matter where you play Kilkenny, it’s good to beat them. But, it’s just kind of a stepping stone, take every game as it comes, Two more games left in the League coming up and they will be massive games.”

“Our squad there is unbelievable. If you’re injured, it’s whoever is up next, there’s no ooing and ahing, the next guy just steps up and does his job.”
