WATCH: Limerick’s All-Ireland Final history | 1897-2021

As this year’s All-Ireland Hurling final nears, Sporting Limerick’s Jack Neville was joined by Cuimhnigh ar Luimneach’s Liam O’Brien & James Lundon to take a step back and look at the history of Limerick in previous All-Ireland finals.

On the show, every final appearance is discussed with an in-depth view with at some of the more memorable ones such as 1940, 1973 and 2018.

It’s a perfect watch to get you in the mood for the most anticipated weekend in the hurling calendar.

The 2021 iteration of the final is teed up to be another classic.

Limerick going for the elusive two-in-a-row and Cork looking to ruin the party.

Finals are Cork’s expertise with their impressive 61% final win ratio, only beaten by Tipperary (68%) and Kerry’s 100% record in their only hurling final in 1891.

As for Limerick, they’ve won exactly half of their 18 finals but they are favoured to take the Liam MacCarthy home on Sunday.
