Four players leave the province this summer as Simon Zebo, Robin Copeland, Dave Johnston and Gerbrandt Grobler all move on from the Thomond Park outfit.
Zebo will be sorely missed, the Cork man is Munster’s record try-scorer, crossing the whitewash 60 times in total. The flying fullback links up with Top 14 side Racing 92 this summer.
Copeland will be playing his rugby at home in Ireland next season but will be in the green of Connacht, having spent four seasons at Munster after joining from the Cardiff Blues in 2014 and scoring 13 tries in 71 appearances.
The backrow was outstanding throughout this year’s campaign and was named Man of The Match on three separate occasions.
While talented back Johnston who made his PRO12 debut against Treviso in September 2015 was also nominated for Academy Player of the Year at the end of that season.
He moved up to the senior squad in 2016 and played a pivotal role in Munster A claiming their second British and Irish Cup title last year, starting all nine games.
Johnston’s brother Bill remains at the province while he moves to Championship side Ealing Trailfinders having made 10 senior appearances for the province.
Grobler who moved from Racing 92 last season may end up remembering his time at Munster for the wrong reasons as he was caught in a media storm regarding his past doping ban.
The South African did show just how influential he could have been within the squad with a strong finish to the season but will move to Premiership side Gloucester next season.
The South African made 11 appearances and scored one try, against Leinster in the PRO14 semi-final, and moves to Premiership side Gloucester.
