WATCH: Niamh Briggs reacts to Aki suspension

Sporting Limerick stopped by at Rengeron on Monday for a Rugby Panel Discussion ahead of Ireland’s Rugby World Cup Quarter-Final clash with the All Blacks on Saturday in Toyko.

In front of a live audience were special guests, Marcus Horan, Ian Dowling, Niamh Briggs and Tom Savage (Three Red Kings). The Panel was hosted by Sporting Limerick Editor Raffaele Rocca.

Among the talking points were Bundee Aki’s three-week suspension for a high tackle on Samoan fly-half Ulupano Seuteni during Ireland’s 47-5 bonus-point win in their final Pool game of the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

Munster and Ireland out-half Briggs felt that Aki’s suspension was justified:

“My initial view when I saw it was oh no, he’s in trouble, red card. It’s just the way it’s being reffed and the way it’s gone all tournament.”

“I think three weeks is fair enough, I think everyone seems to be getting three weeks no matter what they are doing”
