Geraldines defender Danny O’Neill spoke of his delight at returning to the club after a three year spell with local rivals Janesboro where the defender won three consecutive league titles and an Oscar Traynor Trophy.
O’Neill is adamant that he left his former club on good terms and his main aim was to aid Geraldines in their bid for silverware and league improvement.
“It was more a case of me just wanting to get back to the lads. There was no massive reason for me leaving Janesboro. It wasn’t anything to do with things changing up there but it was more personal as I have a couple of family members and friends at Geraldines. I’m delighted to be back and it has been a breath of fresh air having been away for 3 years. “
O’Neill also discusses both the club’s aims and his own personal aims for the season ahead. The talented right-back is hoping to secure a place in both the Limerick District League and Irish Junior side for the coming season.
