WATCH: Rory Scannell on Munster crowd and competition for places

Munster head overseas this weekend to take on Saracens in the champions cup semi-final hoping to make it third time lucky.

Munster were beaten at the same stage by Sarries in the Aviva Stadium in 2017 and by Racing 92 in France twelve months ago.

For Rory Scannell, the huge Munster faithful will be needed once more as they try to overturn the 2016 and 2017 champions.

“Hopefully we get a big crowd at the weekend. The support we got in Edniburgh was incredible”

“In intense games like that they really help you get that bit of momentum going.”

When Munster travelled to France last year they were without long-term injury absentees Jaco Taute and Chris Farrell with Scannell and Sammy Arnold appearing in each game for the Province towards the business end of the season.

This time around, the health of the centres isn’t a worry, something Scannell is extremely grateful for.

“It’s great that five or six of us are fit this year. There’s a bit of rotation so you’re not playing 10/15 games in a row!”
