The tackle has many fans and pundits debating whether or not it was a legal hit.
Saracens started their defence of the Champions Cup in style on Sunday evening as they ran out 57-13 winners at Franklins gardens against Northampton, however there was a big talking point from the game when out half Farrell met Ben Foden with a meaty challenge.
The Saracens man lifted his former team mate above the horizontal before holding onto him and then bringing him down to the ground. What some are arguing is that the fact he was brought above the horizontal it should have been a penalty, but what other’s are saying is that Foden was brought to the ground fairly completely under Farrell’s control.
In the end the British and Irish Lion was penalised, but only due to his reaction to Northampton players Teimana Harrison’s push.
