WATCH: “We’ve a record to try and maintain in Munster”-Cathal King focused on Provincial final

After reclaiming the County Championship last weekend, Na Piarsaigh are one step away from retaining their Munster crown after overcoming Clonoulty Rossmore with ease in the Gaelic Grounds yesterday, winning out 3-22 to 0-13.

For Cathal King, captain of the All-Ireland winning side in 2016, he says their positive start was a major boost for the side after conceding goals at the beginning of either half against Doon in the county final.

“We set out today to start as well as possible. Especiallywith the county final we just played, each half we came out and conceded agoal. It was a very big thing for us to start well and thankfully that gave usthe lift to carry on from there.”

Na Piarsaigh will now face Ballygunner in the Munster Club final after they defeated Ballyea after two bouts of extra time yesterday. These sides met at the same stage last year where Na Piarsaigh ran out eight-point winners in Thurles.

The Caherdavin side are yet to taste defeat in the Munster championship and are looking for an incredible fifth provincial title in eight years against the Waterford champions. As reigning champions, King is keen for Na Piarsaigh to keep up their perfect record in the competition.

“We’ve a record to try and maintain in Munster… We’ve it allto look forward to again thankfully. A good two weeks of work and hopefully wecome out on the right side again.”
