What They’ve Won | John Kiely’s men add to their bourgeoning collection with All-Ireland three-peat

Limerick brought an end to the 2022 hurling season by retaining their status as the best team in the game of hurling.

It was too close for comfort at times but Limerick reigned supreme in the All-Ireland hurling final, outlasting Kilkenny to complete an astonishing three-peat.

Gearoid Hegarty’s early goal saw Limerick set out their stall but Kilkenny refused to relent and were level with seven minutes to play.

But five on the trot late on gave them daylight as they won out 1-32 to 2-26 in glorious conditions.

That was a 16th successive championship game without defeat for Kiely’s men who have amassed an incredible collection of awards over the years.

Below we look at the already storied careers of the 2022 All-Ireland final matchday squad with an array of silverware between them, not mention Cian Lynch’s personal haul of 31 accolades as he missed out on the final.
