First Round Fixtures Munster Schools Senior and Junior Cup

The draw for the Clayton Hotels Munster Schools Senior and Junior Cup competitions took place in Thomond Park last evening.  The first round of both competitions kicks off on the week beginning Monday, January 15, 2018, and the final participants have yet to be decided with qualifiers taking place next week. The senior and junior sides from Coláiste Pobail Bheanntraí and St Clement’s face off on Tuesday with the venues to be confirmed. Champions Limerick face Clare in Munster U21 opener. Limerick’s under 21 hurlers will face a trip to Ennis to take on Clare as they begin the defence of their Munster and All Ireland crowns. Pat Donnelly’s men saw off the Banner 1-28 to 1-15 in last year’s Munster semi-final. The game is set for May 9th with the winners earning the right to take on Tipperary in the semi-final in June. John Tuohy has named his Limerick Camogie panel for the upcoming National League. Limerick begin their National Camogie League campaign at home to Dublin on January 14th and manager John Touhy has named a 35 player panel in preparation of the new season this week. Limerick FC sign winger Daniel Kearns from Sligo Rovers. Limerick FC have completed the signing of Daniel Kearns from Sligo Rovers for the upcoming 2018 season. Kearns signed the new deal at Limerick’s training base in Bruff this afternoon. The winger spent the 2017 season at rivals Sligo Rovers. In 2007 Kearns signed for West Ham United and after three years in the academy, he returned to Ireland and signed for Dundalk.
