LISTEN: Stephen Rochford expecting “tricky game” from Limerick

The Mayo manager was speaking at yesterday’s launch of AIB’s five year sponsorship of the All Ireland Football Championships. Mayo will make the trip to play Limerick on June 9th having fallen to Galway in their Connacht semi final while Limerick’s defeat to Clare sees Billy Lee’s side up against the All Ireland finalists of the last two years.

Mayo have reached the All Ireland final through the qualifiers in the last two years so this experience will be nothing new to them. Mayo’s last trip to the Gaelic Grounds was for their famous semi-final clash with Kerry in 2014 where they were narrowly beaten in a thriller.

Mayo manager Stephen Rochford is taking nothing for granted ahead of the game in the Gaelic Grounds.

“I’m sure there will be plenty of external noise saying that Mayo will be the favourites but that was the same against Derry last year and Fermanagh the year before….It’s going to be a tricky game I’ve absolutely no doubt.”
