WATCH: Paul Beary delighted with “massive work ethic” during emphatic win

Na Piarsaigh have booked the Munster Club championship after a comprehensive 3-22 to 0-13 win over Tipperary champions Clonoulty Rossmore. For Na Piarsaigh, the game was effectively ended as a contest at the half with the Caherdavin side holding a 14-point lead.

In a game where the Nap forwards shone, manager Paul Beary was quick to point out the impact of his defence who rarely looked troubled during the game in what was as an assured performance as you’re likely to see in club hurling.

“People probably look at our forwards and the scores they get but that wouldn’t be possible at all but for the hard work out the field. We’ve had a massive work ethic all year and carried it through to today.”

Despite the manner of the game, there is some cause for concern for Beary as a couple of key players were taken off injured during the match. Shane Dowling made way in the first half and was seen with his arm in a brace at full time. Ronan Lynch who was in imperious form was also forced off late on. Beary said,

“Couple of injuries there. I’ll have to catch up with Shaneand Ronan and those. We have two weeks now. It has been kind of full on really thelast few weeks, but we will have to assess where we are at in terms of theinjuries but hopefully, they will all be okay for the Munster Club final.”
