LISTEN: “Game against Down is huge” – John Ryan

Limerick’s ladies football side face a must win game when they make the long trip to Down in their second tie of the All-Ireland Intermediate Football Championship.

John Ryan’s side were comfortably beaten on a 3-15 to 3-5 scoreline by Kildare at the LIT Gaelic Grounds last Saturday.

Ryan is hoping that his charges have learned from that defeat and can avoid a relegation fight in the first season after winning the junior All-Ireland crown in 2018.

“We struggled to cope with the pace against Kildare. We have regrouped this week. The girls have trained quite hard.

“Hopefully, we will be able to take something from that game. The positive we took (from Kildare) was the second half performance.

“We played very well, but the worry is that we should be getting more scores on the board. We weren’t doing that against Kildare.”

Limerick’s game takes place at 1pm on Sunday at St Mary’s Burren GAA Club. To listen to the full interview with John Ryan click below.
