Results as Limerick underage football sides compete in weekend tournaments

Over the weekend, the Limerick U16 football team took part in the Fitzgerald’s Woodlands House Hotel Tournament while the U15 side played in the Dermot Earley Tournament.

FITZGERALD’S WOODLANDS HOUSE HOTEL U16 FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT

Results below in the ‘Fitzgerald’s Woodlands House Hotel’ U16 Football Tournament played last Saturday in LIT, Claughaun, Old Christians and Mick Neville Park.

Disappointingly and at short notice Tyrone failed to show up for the Division 3 section so the Limerick U16s had just one game and failed to progress to the final with defeat to Clare.

Thanks to all participating teams, their mentors and parents.  No doubt we will see several of them progress to the highest level with their respective counties.

A massive thanksmust go to the Fitzgerald Family for their continued sponsorship of our tournament, as they have been involved since the inception of the tournament 28 years ago.

Our U15s had mixed fortunes in the semi-finals of the Dermot Earley Tournament.  Team (1) advanced to the final with a 3-9 to 1-9 victory over Roscommon after extra time.

Unfortunately, Team (2) suffered a 2-13 to 1-7 defeat at the hands of Armagh.

Team (1) will now contest the final on 17th August.
