John Kiely names 13 All-Ireland winners in starting side for Munster Semi-final clash with Cork

This weekend will see Limerick take on Cork in the Munster Senior Hurling championship semi-final in Semple Stadium and if anything like previous encounters it should prove to be a highly entertaining clash with pride and a Munster Final spot on the line.

Limerick manager John Kiely has named his team to start this weekend and has kept 13 of his All-Ireland winners within the starting squad. Richie English will get the nod ahead of Dan Morrissey while Seán Finn will return from injury to resume his role at the back.

Cork have a strong record against Limerick and will offer a serious challenge to the treaty side. However, to have success the Rebels will look to slow down Cian Lynch, Aaron Gillane and Gearoid Hegarty from dictating play.

The two sides have had a pair of wins and a draw between them in their last five encounters, which would suggest this game will be one of fine margins. The rivalry has seen an All-Ireland semi-final in 2018 between the two Munster sides as well as two previous Munster finals in recent times.

Limericks season as a whole hasn’t been as impressive as they may have wanted but with momentum gained in their most recent performances, they will look to put Cork to the sword and demonstrate why they have been the team to beat in the country for the past few years.

John Kiely and his men will look to add another Munster championship final appearance to the collection while also putting a dagger into the hearts of long time rivals Cork by winning the highly anticipated Semi-final.

The game will throw in at 7pm in front of 2,400 spectators in Thurles and will be shown live on Sky Sports Arena.
