Limerick IHC Round Up | Four teams book their semi-final spots as relegation pairing confirmed

The four quarter-finals in the Limerick Intermediate Championship were played over the weekend as were the relegation semi-finals.

Granagh Ballingarry, Bruree, Croagh Kilfinny and Effin all booked their places in the last four with wins over the weekend.

On Saturday, Granagh Ballingarry upset Croom for a comprehensive 3-18 to 1-16 win. There was just a point between the sides at the half but two third quarter goals were enough to seal Granagh Ballingarry a place in the semi-finals, a year after they contested the relegation final.

Bruree joined them in the last four courtesy of a 1-16 to 1-10 win over Pallasgreen. Bruree made it three wins from three in their first year back in the Intermediate ranks. Bruree face 2020 Junior Champions Croagh Kilfinny in the semi-final after the west side overcame last year’s finalists Na Piarsaigh on Sunday. In the end, Croagh Kilfinny ran out 1-17 to 1-12 winners over the City men.

Effin make up the final four round up as they were impressive 2-13 to 0-9 winners over Knockaderry, maintaining their 100% record. They meet Granagh Ballingarry in the semi-finals.

Those semi-finals will be played on Saturday October 9 in Newcastle West at 2pm and 4pm respectively.

At the other end of the championship, Hospital Herbertstown consigned Tournafulla to the relegation final, defeating the West men 3-15 to 1-15 on Saturday evening. They will face Feohanagh Castlemahon in the final after they fell to Kilmallock.
