Caoimhe Costelloe in the running for Camogie All-Star Award

It will be a busy weekend for the star who plays in London in the All-Ireland Junior Club quarter-final on the same day as the award ceremony.

Limerick superstar Caoimhe Costelloe has been shortlisted for the 2022 PwC Camogie All-Stars following her performances for county over the summer.

The awards will be announced this Saturday, November 26th at the ceremony in Croke Park.

The Adare native is Limerick’s sole representative on the list of 36 players which was announced in October.

Costelloe was named as the player of the month for June following a sensational scoring spree that saw Limerick into the knockout stages of the All-Ireland Championship.

The Adare native does face stiff competition for a place in the half-forward line as she is up against Abby Flynn (Waterford), Denise Gaule and Julianne Malone (both Kilkenny).

It was Flynn and co that ended Limerick’s run in the competition as they proved too strong in the quarter-finals with Gaule and Malone both part of the victorious Kilkenny side in the All-Ireland final.

With Limerick suffering successive defeats to kickstart their championship campaign, Costello almost single handily dragged the Treaty outfit into the quarter-finals.

She bagged 2-25 in three games as Limerick saw off Offaly, Down and Antrim to book a first quarter-final spot in three years and also the Player of the Month award for June.

For Costelloe, it will be a busy day as she lines out with Adare in the All-Ireland Junior Camogie quarter-final against Tara in London on Saturday afternoon in the build-up to the awards.
