The Adare native beat out players from Cork and Galway.
Limerick’s Caoimhe Costelloe has been named the Pwc/GPA Women’s Player of the Month after a stellar pair of performances.
The Adare player was her county’s standout performer in June as they overcame a poor start to book their place in the All-Ireland quarter-finals.
Costelloe beat out Cork’s Katrina Mackey and Carrie Dolan of Galway to the award.
After successive losses to Galway and Kilkenny in the opening rounds of the championship, Limerick needed a win when they hosted Offaly in early June.
Costelloe proved the difference in Cappamore as a haul of 0-9 was enough for a two point win where she scored all but two points for her side.
She bettered this a fortnight later as she grabbed 2-10 in a 2-11 to 0-12 win over Down that pushed Limerick within one win of qualifying for the knockout stages.
She continued her scoring spree with 0-6 at the weekend to help Limerick into a first quarter-final since 2019.
The Adare native has been a key player for Limerick since she burst onto the scene in 2014, winning a minor and Intermediate All-Ireland championship.
Up next for Costelloe and co is that quarter-final as they take on Waterford in Thurles on Saturday 16 July.
