That was Limerick’s second successive success in the competition as they overpowered Cork in the 2020 final with the 2021 edition cancelled following the pandemic.

Limerick are three times winners, also claiming the title in 2018, with Clare (2016 & ’19) and Cork (2017) the only other sides to triumph since its inception in 2016. The Treaty men have won the All-Ireland each year they have won the Munster League.

Last year, Limerick opened their campaign in the semi-finals with a 4-29 to 0-11 victory over Kerry in the TUS Gaelic Grounds. They followed that up with victory over Clare in the final.

John Kiely’s men will kick off their League campaign in Cork on February 4 with the fixtures released last week.
