Fixture confirmed for Ardscoil Rís’ Wednesday Harty Cup quarter-final with Our Lady’s Templemore

The Limerick school come into the clash as defending All-Ireland champions after their maiden success on St Patricks Day last year.

Nenagh will host the meeting of Ardscoil Rís and Our Lady’s Templemore in the Dr Harty Cup quarter-final this Wednesday it has been confirmed.

Throw-in is at 1.30pm in the Tipperary venue as last year’s All-Ireland champions continue their quest to defend their maiden title. Cork CBC or Cashel CS await in the semi-finals with those also meeting on Wednesday afternoon.

Ardscoil Rís will be seeking a repeat of the result from 2016 when these sides met in the Munster final in Mallow. On that day, Ronan Connolly captained the Limerick outift to a fifth title since 2011. The Tipperary outfit responded a year later in winning their second ever title.

Although they come into the game as the defending All-Ireland champions after a first ever Croke Cup success last March, Ardscoil Rís are looking for a first provincial title since 2018 after falling to Tulla in last year’s final, their first ever loss in the Harty decider.

This year they have already seen off Cashel CS and St Flannans as they booked their quarter-final berth with a 100% record. Their opponents this Wednesday were beaten by Thurles CBS but responded with wins over Rochestown and Youghal to advance to the knockout stages.

On the other side of the draw, Thurles play St Colman’s while Midleton meet De La Salle.
