Limerick are currently bottom of Division 2 of the League and have failed to pick up a win from their first five rounds of games.
Limerick senior manager Ray Dempsey has stepped down from his role today after a short statement was released on the Limerick GAA Website. Mark Fitzgerald will take over as new manager for the remainder of the season.
Limerick GAA wish to announce that the Limerick Senior Football Management have stepped down with immediate effect. Limerick GAA would like to thank them for their commitment to the job and wish them well in the future. Mark Fitzgerald will take up the new position of manager until the end of the season Limerick GAA will be making no further comment

Limerick are currently bottom of Division 2 of the League and have failed to pick up a win from their first five rounds of games. The Shannonsiders did pick up their first point at the weekend with a draw with Meath.
Dempsey was appointed as new Limerick Senior manager in October of 2022, replacing Billy Lee who stood down after six years in charge where he helped the side from Division 4 to the second tier.
The Mayo native won a pair of county titles with his own club Knockmore prior to his arrival in Limerick.
However, results haven’t gone to plan despite the side reaching the McGrath Cup final in January. Derry, Dublin and Cork have inflicted heavy defeats on Limerick in the league with the result in Pairc Ui Chaoimh particularly bad.
Limerick have yet to appoint a successor but are at home next weekend to Kildare in a do-or-die league clash that could see them relegated if they were to lose.
However, a win would set up a final-day showdown with Clare in Cusack Park as Limerick know a pair of wins will be enough to secure safety.
